Birminham City chairman David Gold has accused Sebastian Larsson’s agent of being ‘a man with a chip on his shoulder’.
Wanted: But Gold wants Larsson to stay at St Andrews
Sweden midfielder Larsson is a target for Newcastle United, Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic.
But Birmingham are refusing to sell their £4.5 million rated player of the season with Gold admitting recently that Larsson would leave ‘over my dead body’.
Larsson’s agent Per Jonsson admitted he was annoyed by those words and said: 'Maybe Birmingham will get an offer they can’t refuse.'
But Gold is standing firm and believes the agent is trying to get former Arsenal player Larsson a move to the Premier League.
'Seb’s agent sounds like a man with a chip on his shoulder,' said Gold.
'But my comments remain. I know Seb wants to play in the Premier League but we want him to help us get promoted.
'The agent sounds like a man that is looking to get his player a move.
'I haven’t met him but if I get the opportunity then I’ll try to iron out the issues.'
