Birmingham give up on signing former Inter striker

Birmingham have decided not to pursue their interest in signing striker Mohammed Kallon.

The former Inter Milan player has been training with Blues for the past 10 days after becoming a free agent when Monaco paid up his contract.

He scored in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Kidderminster but because of paperwork issues Blues have opted against signing the Sierra Leone player.

Manager Steve Bruce said: "There would have been a problem getting a work permit. Our information was that it would have been very, very difficult so Mohammed has gone elsewhere and we wish him luck."
