Blackburn join £4m race to sign Liverpool keeper Carson

Paul Ince has made a late bid to snatch Liverpool goalkeeper Scott Carson from under the noses of Stoke and West Bromwich.

New Blackburn boss Ince has turned to the England international after losing Brad Friedel to Aston Villa.

Stoke and Albion had both agreed a fee of £4m with Liverpool, but Stoke boss Tony Pulis is ready to switch his sights to Sunderland's Martin Fulop. The Hungarian keeper would cost around £1.8m.
