Blackstock compared to Johnson

Queens Park Rangers hero Dexter Blackstock was likened to Fulham striker Andy Johnson after taking his tally to five from six matches as he scored twice in yesterday's 4-1 demolition of Southampton.

Damion Stewart and Patrick Agyemang were also on target, while the visitors had Ollie Lancashire sent off.

QPR manager Iain Dowie worked with Johnson while at Crystal Palace. He said: "Andy has innate ability - and so does Dexter. He could become a very good striker."

Crystal Palace beat Swansea City 2-0 thanks to goals from Ben Watson and Nick Carle.

But it was keeper Julian Speroni - who made two stunning saves - that stood out.

Watfordboss Aidy Boothroyd was mystified by his side's 2-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday.

The manager said: "I was delighted when none of our players got called up for internationals, as I could work with them. But I might send them away next time."

Charlton's 3-1 loss to Wolves left Alan Pardew admitting his side still "have a bit of learning to do."

His men took the lead and he said: "The disappointing thing was our reaction to their equaliser."
