Former Marseile defender Meite reached 2004's UEFA Cup final with the French giants and was signed by Bolton in July, 2006.

After making a promising start at the Reebok, the French-born, Ivory Coast international fell foul of Megson at half-time during the Trotters' 3-1defeat to Manchester United.

After Megson blamed Meite for two goals, the 27-year-old refused to play the second half.
