Bolton hit for six as Samuel is ruled out

Bolton defender Jlloyd Samuel, 26, has been ruled out for six weeks after scan results revealed the left back tore a hamstring in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Birmingham.

But the club have been boosted by the news that Ricardo Gardner, who had two months out with a similar injury, is likely to make his first start of the season against Rabotnicki Kometal of Macedonia in the UEFA Cup on Thursday.

In an effort to pull in a good crowd, Bolton have slashed their ticket prices for the game.

Season ticket holders will be allowed in for £5, while children will be charged just £1 to watch the second leg on October 4.
