Bolton manager Gary Megson is holding talks with Birmingham midfielder Fabrice Muamba after agreeing a £3.5million fee.
Megson is determined to add more drive to his midfield and believes the fromer Arsenal youngster can provide it.
The Bolton boss believes the fee could prove to be a bargain price if Muamba, 20, fulfils his true potential.
However, Bolton could face competition with Wigan considering a late bid and Stoke also keen.
