It's there: Wayne Rooney notches United's third goal
They are joined in the second round by Arsenal, whose goalless draw at Slavia Prague ensured their progress from Group H. United's England striker immediately pointed an accusing finger at the Kiev players by suggesting they had not come to Old Trafford to make a game of it.
Sir Alex Ferguson's team beat Kiev 4-2 a fortnight ago and Rooney said: "They came here and did not want to play. I didn't really enjoy it. We got the win and are through, but we got frustrated and bored. It was like a training session as they had no enthusiasm to play. It wasn't enjoyable."
Goals from Gerard Pique and Carlos Tevez in the first half, and further efforts from Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo late in the game helped United ease home, and they now need one point from games against Sporting Lisbon and Roma to be certain of top spot.
Ferguson said: "I know what Wayne means as it was a bit tedious at times. I think Kiev had come here determined not to be embarrassed."
Ferguson confirmed that there was no problem with Owen Hargreaves, who was not in the matchday squad, and revealed that Gary Neville will be fit within a fortnight. However, goalkeeper Edwin Van der Sar was withdrawn at half time with a toe problem.
Meanwhile, Nemanja Vidic is set to sign a new £60,000-a-week contract at Old Trafford. Fellow defender Patrice Evra is also in contract talks.
