Bowman wins the Group 1 Crown Oaks on Samantha Miss

The Kris Lees-trained three-year-old suffered her only defeat when third in the Cox Plate last month and there had been doubts about her ability to last out the one-mile four-furlong Oaks trip.

But a three-length victory put paid to those fears. Lees, who is eyeing another crack at the Cox Plate next October, said: "She's great. She can stay, so she can win anything."
