Maloney, who manages McDermott, sent a letter to the British Boxing Board of Control on Monday voicing his concerns over the scoring of judges Richie Davies, Mark Green and Marcus McDonnell.

He fumed: "I believe it is one of the worst decisions I have witnessed since I started promoting more than 25 years ago, and I've seen some bad ones.

"I can only think the judges must have picked the winner before the fight."
