New deal: Brown is set to sign
Phil Brown is in line to double his wages - but the Hull City manager will still be one of the Premier League's lowest-paid bosses.
The Tigers have offered Brown a new three-year deal worth an annual £500,000 as a reward for winning promotion via the play-offs.
Brown, 48, told The Mirror: 'I'm currently in talks with the chairman and hopefully by the end of next month, I'll put pen to paper on a new three-year contract.'
The KC Stadium boss is lining up a swoop for Portsmouth defender Djimi Traore.
Traore, 28, back at Fratton Park after a year with Rennes, is available for a small fee and Brown wants to sign 6ft 3in Frenchman to add height and experience to his defence.
Brown is also hoping to bring in Morecambe assistant boss Mark Lillis to his backroom staff.
'We've got four or five coaches in mind and Mark is one we've looked at,' he said.
