Bruce has been seeking a face-to-face meeting with the Hong Kong businessman since he decided not to rubber stamp the manager's new contract which had been agreed with the current board of directors.

Bruce: 20 months left on current contract

Yeung pulled out of the chance to speak with Bruce last weekend because of business commitments but is now ready to meet with the City boss who has 20 months remaining of his current contract.

Bruce said: "I am meeting Mr Yeung and his people after the game on Saturday and we will see what develops but enough has been said publicly. I don't want to talk about it at every press conference and let's just see how things go."

Bruce has been manager at St Andrews for six years and has spelt out his desire to remain with the club.

He said: "I've got a good feeling for this place having been here eight years, if you include the two I had as a player, and I want to see the job through if possible.

"But the most important thing is that the club goes forward and we have seen the benefit at places like Aston Villa, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool of overseas investment."

In the immediate future Bruce's main task is for City to turn promising performances into a tangible reward by picking up a much needed win against the Latics.

He said: "We have played well in games and have got compliments from a lot of people but it is vitally important we get a result. We just need to start converting chances and we will be okay.

"Wigan, with no disrespect to them, is one of the teams in our part of the table that we have to target - in the same way as they will be targeting us.

"We have done well so far against teams around us like Sunderland, Bolton and Derby and in that sense Saturday is another huge game. It is vitally important we pick up three points. "

On-loan Arsenal defender Johan Djourou will have a late fitness test on the hamstring injury which forced him to miss the single goal defeat at Manchester City last weekend.

But midfielder Sebastian Larsson has recovered from illness and is likely to earn a recall.
