Bullard's our star, says Fulham's Danny Murphy

The return of long-term injury victim Jimmy Bullard could be vital to Fulham's hopes of staying in the Premier League, says Danny Murphy.

Bullard has been out for more than a year with a serious knee injury but made his first League start of the season in Tuesday's goalless draw at Bolton.

Murphy was impressed with his display and the two midfielders are set to link up again at home to Aston Villa on Sunday.

Crucial: Danny Murphy says Jimmy Bullard is vital for Fulham's relegation struggle

"Jimmy's comeback is a massive plus because characters, leaders and experience are crucial," said Murphy. "He's going to be a crucial part of us staying up.

"He's got that natural ability and is just good to have around."

Defender Paul Stalteri, signed on loan from Tottenham late last night, will go straight into Roy Hodgson's line-up while strikers Eddie Johnson and Erik Nevland could also make their debuts.

Ashley Young is suspended for Aston Villa.
