Bywater bypass as Spurs look to sign Zaragoza keeper Sanchez

Bywater: Suffered a shock about-turn by Spurs

are bidding to sign Real Zaragoza goalkeeper Cesar Sanchez after opting out of a £250,000 deal for Derby's Stephen Bywater.

Bywater was on his way to London to complete the deal when Spurs boss Juande Ramos called off the transfer.

Ramos now has his eyes on Sanchez, who used to be first choice at Real Madrid and has been capped once by Spain.

Cesar, 36, who will be back-up to Heurelho Gomes, has been told he can leave Zaragoza following their relegation last term and is available for a nominal fee.
