Capello family in tax probe

Capello's wife Laura Ghisi, his sons Pierfilippo and Eduardo and their accountants will be quizzed about the setting-up of a complex network of offshore accounts. Pierfilippo was instrumental in negotiating Capello's contract with the FA.
Prosecutor Vincenzo Pacileo said on Tuesday: 'The file is almost completed but to finish the investigation we need to speak to Fabio Capello, his wife and his sons.
'That will take place sometime over the next few weeks here in Turin. Capello and his wife and children are all under investigation and the ultimate decision on whether it should proceed to trial will be taken by an investigating judge within the next couple of months.'
The probe centres on money that Capello was paid as boss at Roma and allegedly passed through accounts in Luxembourg and Guernsey.
Investigators have obtained paperwork from Luxembourg and Guernsey and say the charge would be a false declaration of earnings.
Key to the probe is the Capello Family Trust, which is based in Guernsey, and Sport 3000, based in Luxembourg.
Investigators claim that the full amount of tax was not paid on his earnings from sponsorships because he did not declare the entire sum.
Officials are not investigating his financial activities since he became England boss in November.
on Tuesday night his lawyer, Alberto Moro Visconti, issued a statement saying: 'The submissions that appear in the communication from the Turin financial police are exclusively and only due to a different legal interpretation by the Turin financial police of the facts under examination.
'I am sure that I will clarify to the authorities that my client completed everything correctly and legally.'
