BACK TO BASICS: Jamie Carragher wants a return to the Liverpool ways of old
Carragher believes Liverpool cannot afford another campaign of off-field disruption and need key decisions on matters such as the new stadium which would reassure manager Rafa Benitez,a target for top European clubs, that Liverpool can close the gap on their Premier League rivals.
Carragher said: "The best clubs are the ones where you don't hear about things going on behind the scenes. That was always how Liverpool were run and that's what we want to get back to."
A spokesman for Hicks last night denied there were any financial problems with Hicks Sports Group which would force him to sell his stake.
