Cech's worried by injury jinx

Petr Cech believes Chelsea's defence has developed an injury curse.

The goalkeeper is out for around three weeks with a calf problem and joins Ricardo Carvalho, Paulo Ferreira and John Terry in fighting his way back to fitness.

Injury blow: Cech is out for around three weeks with a calf problem

Ashley Cole has just recovered from an ankle problem and Wayne Bridge missed the start of the season after a hip operation.

Chelsea's title campaign last season was undermined by injuries at the back.

Cech said: "Last year it was central defenders, this year the black sheep was left-back. It started with Bridgey, now Ashley. Ricardo is injured, but the biggest and unluckiest is JT because he never had problems, then last season he started and they just keep going on."
