O'Neill wants 28-year-old Boruc because on-loan Villa keeper Scott Carson is set to return to Liverpool this summer.
And Celtic, who face Old Firm rivals Rangers on Saturday, have already sounded out Middlesbrough ace Schwarzer, 35, about moving north to the SPL champions.
Schwarzer, signed from Bradford for £1.5million in 1997 and is the longest serving foreign player in Premier League history after making over 350 appearances for the club.

But the Australian international, who saved an 89th-minute penalty to help his nation draw 0-0 against China in their Asian World Cup qualifier yesterday, is poised to leave the Riverside Stadium and Celtic can offer him European football.
Villa are also interested in West Ham's Ghanian right-back John Pantsil.
