19.46 Michael Essien breaks forward for Chelsea and flashes a shot across the goal. It's only taken 30 seconds for the Blues to slip into gear.

19.42 The flags and banners are out in force at Anfield as the teams take to the field. The "Rafa Out" brigade are having the night off.
Over in unseasonally cold Athens, Chelsea take to the field minus Terry and Lampard, but Didier Drogba is back after his African Cup of Nations exploits.
