expect to learn more about Jose Bosingwa's thigh injury imminently after a scan to discover the extent of the problem was delayed.
The 25-year-old Portugal right-back, who joined Chelsea from FC Porto over the summer, managed just 19 minutes of his Blues debut on Wednesday in southern China before complaining of a thigh problem.
Chelsea initially insisted he was withdrawn as a precautionary measure, but it was later revealed he would undergo a scan to determine the extent of any injury.
Bosingwa: Short debut for the Portuguese
He was set to have the scan yesterday, but a change to Chelsea's flight from Guangzhou to Macau for tomorrow's friendly against Chengdu Blades forced a delay. Chelsea coach Luiz Felipe Scolari revealed yesterday the results of the scan would determine whether Bosingwa would remain with the squad for the remainder of the tour of Asia and Russia or return to London early.
Chelsea kicked off the five-game pre-season tour with a 4-0 win over Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Pharmaceutical on Wednesday.
Scolari's side face the Blades tomorrow and a Malaysia Select XI in Kuala Lumpur three days later before travelling to Moscow for the Railway Cup which also features Lokomotiv Moscow, AC Milan and Sevilla.
