The goalkeeper has missed the last four games with a calf injury but expects to make his comeback against Sunderland and to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium next week.
Cech said: "We entered this season to get the title back. We are six points behind Arsenal but there is a game coming against them so we can close the gap."

He went on: "When you want to be back quickly you have to give 130 per cent and I am happy with the way I have progressed. "You always want to be on the pitch and playing.
"I have been training really hard to come back. I couldn't make it against West Ham last weekend but hope to play on Saturday."
In stark contrast, Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon - their record £9m signing from Hearts - looks set to be rested again. Boss Roy Keane said: "The lad's been under pressure so missing a few games will do him a world of good mentally. I'm delighted with him but I have to look at what's best long term.
Gordon's deputy Darren Ward kept a clean sheet in the 1-0 win over Derby."
