Chelsea new boy Bosingwa gets Premier League tips from Portuguese team-mate Ronaldo

Chelsea full-back Jose Bosingwa has been told by Cristiano Ronaldo what to expect in the Premier League but not whether the Portugal team-mates will be facing each other.

Bosingwa, Chelsea's £16.2million summer signing from Porto, would probably be marking Ronaldo if the winger stays at Manchester United rather than move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

'We have not spoken about that,' said the 25-year-old. 'We did speak about football in England which is a different kind of league.

'It is very competitive and it's a fast type of football. They are very professional and you have to work very hard on the pitch for the whole game.'

Bosingwa was signed before Avram Grant was dismissed as Chelsea boss and the full-back did not know Luiz Felipe Scolari, his coach at international level at the time, would be appointed.

'I had no idea because Mr Grant was the manager and I had no idea Scolari would be the new coach,' he added.

'As a coach I don't have to say very much about my coach because his CV speaks for itself. He has won everything with clubs in Brazil and then the national team. He was a great manager with Portugal and he is a friend to the players and he protects his players and he's someone who is trusted.

'He always tries to help his players in any way he can and if you have a personal problem he's the first to try and help out and get you where you need to be to sort things out and help as much as he can.'

Under Scolari, Bosingwa is targeting a trophy haul in his first season in England, including the Champions League.

'I did win it and it's great to win but we are in many competitions,' he said. 'We try to win everything and the Champions League is not going to be the only one we will try to win.'

Scolari has Paulo Ferreira and Juliano Belletti as fellow right-backs in the squad but Bosingwa added: "I'll keep working as hard as I have done for Porto - it's what I have always done - and I will do the same at Chelsea to get into the first team.'
