A brick was hurled through the window of their coach outside Upton Park but they went on to thrash West Ham 4-1 with the help of two goals by Shaun Wright-Phillips, cutting the gap at the top to three points.

Bridge the gap: Wayne Bridge of Chelsea jumps over the tackle from Yossi Benayoun of West Ham
Midfielder Frank Lampard said: "A window got shattered on the way in. The outer layer broke and it made a huge bang. But it's football and it happens because there are emotions.
"West Ham are fighting for their lives and their fans came to Upton Park knowing that. There are emotions but I don't think there's too much to dwell on. No one was hurt and we move on."
After Wright-Phillips' double either side of a Carlos Tevez thunderbolt, Chelsea sealed victory with second-half strikes from Salomon Kalou and Didier Drogba to leave West Ham on the verge of relegation.
Lampard, who was barracked by West Ham's supporters throughout the game, added: "Certain things come with being a Chelsea player but now we are in with a chance of winning everything.
"We knew West Ham would give it a right go in the first half because that's how they play, but when it got to 3-1 and then 4-1 it was game over. We felt confident at 2-1 and they left themselves open.
"The reception from the fans doesn't bother me and I thought the two sets of supporters were brilliant."
Wright-Phillips, who scored his first Premiership goals for Chelsea since his £21m move from Manchester City in 2005, said: "To score my first league goal is a great feeling but the lads have been right behind me since the start at Chelsea. We knew what we had to do and we have done that."
Chelsea are hot on the heels of leaders Manchester United but it was the first time they have conceded a Premiership goal since Jermaine Pennant scored Liverpool's second in the 2-0 victory in January.
West Ham face Everton on Saturday and manager Alan Curbishley has set the team a target of 38 points.
That is nine more than they have now but Curbishley refuses to give up hope. He said: "We have four games coming up and we probably need to win three.
"We put up a real fight but what concerns me is the number of players celebrating our equaliser because Chelsea just went straight up to the other end and scored.
"Losing to Chelsea is not the reason we find ourselves in this position but the fans know we gave it everything. If we get to 38 points at least it will give us a chance and that means preparing the players properly for Everton on Saturday.
"The fight will go on and we won't give up. We are not in this position because of the results against the teams in the top four — it is because of the results against Charlton, Watford and Fulham.
"Our supporters have been critical at times this season and rightly so, but they know we put the effort in. Unfortunately, we just didn't have enough."
