France winger Franck Ribery, a long-term target of Chelsea, has injuries to his left ankle and knee after falling awkwardly in Tuesday's 2-0 loss to Italy at the European Championship.
In the seventh minute of the match, Ribery chased back to midfield, fell and twisted his knee after trying to tackle defender Gianluca Zambrotta. He was taken off the field on a stretcher and then taken to a hospital.

"He is on crutches and can't put his foot on the floor," France coach Raymond Domenech said Wednesday, adding that Ribery had also hurt his knee in the challenge.
France was hit by injury problems at Euro 2008, with captain Patrick Vieira missing all three matches with a left thigh problem and striker Thierry Henry sitting out the opening game because of a thigh strain.
Ribery had been among France's better players in the 0-0 draw against Romania on June 9 and the 4-1 loss to the Netherlands on Friday.
