Chelsea warned to keep eyes on Roma

Luiz Felipe Scolari has ordered his players to forget about their Premier League match against Liverpool on Sunday and concentrate on beating Roma in the Champions League tonight.

Scolari is concerned that his squad could be focusing more on their clash against Rafael Benitez's men than on getting a crucial three points against the Italians.

Chelsea are still only level on points with Liverpool at the top of the table even though they have been the form team in the country so far.

He said: "We are thinking only of Roma. It is more
important for the players to think about this game.

"The next game is on Sunday and if we want to arrive in the final games of all competitions, they must think about each game only.

"We'll try to do our best for this game. Then, afterwards, we can work on the Liverpool game on Thursday, Friday and Saturday."

Scolari has also eased fears that captain John Terry may need to have an operation on a back problem which has caused him to miss England's last two World Cup qualifiers. He added: "I do not think it requires surgery.

"He was not fit enough to play for the national team but after a period of rest he could play. He has missed one or two games this season so far and that is normal."

Chelsea are set to be boosted with the return of Ricardo Carvalho from a knee injury against Roma tonight as well as goalkeeper Petr Cech.
