The Polish international ended weeks of speculation over his future by signing an extended £30,000-a-week deal until 2011 despite reported interest from Arsenal. Allied to the signing of German international Andreas Hinkel, the deal marks a £10m commitment from the champions.

In echoes of the Stilian Petrov saga, however, Boruc has refused to deny that the Parkhead side may soon recoup their losses should another club meet a contractual release clause which outstrips the fee received by Hearts for Craig Gordon.

Amidst suggestions that Celtic have moved to guarantee a bumper transfer bounty in the future by paying Boruc top dollar, the charismatic goalkeeper responded tartly to a query regarding a break clause by telling the Gazeta Wyborcza: "I cannot say.

"But it does not change the terms of our agreement that if Celtic obtain a good price for me, they will allow me to leave. The amount that is necessary for a club to pay remains the same. I am rated at close to £10m but that is not a question for me, it is a question for Celtic.

"I know that if an offer comes in that is good enough for Celtic and good for me, the club will not make any problems for me.

"So I have signed the new contract in order that the champions of Scotland will profit from me. I have received no offers from other clubs. The only thing I know is what I have read in the papers."

Boruc has refused to sign with a new agent, despite discussing his options with a number of representatives and granting a mandate to at least one English agent to find him a new club.

The Pole had warned darkly of his intention to 'do a Webster' by utilising FIFA articles to buy himself free of his old deal in January 2009.

However, he insisted yesterday: "I did not want to burn my bridges with Celtic and didn't want to use the law or the 'Webster' rule to move. In terms of the financial aspects of my contract, I will only say that I am very satisfied."

Asked if a move to AC Milan would interest him in the future, he responded: "Milan have a great team and it is a beautiful city with great weather."
