Cole goal glut could change his mind on retirement

Andy Cole is ready to make a u-turn on his plans to retire in the summer.

Cole, 36, considered hanging up his boots when he left Sunderland for a loan stint at Turf Moor but a run of six goals in eight starts has reawakened his thirst for the game and he is ready to play on when his current contract at Sunderland runs out in May.

He said: "I just love playing football and I want to keep playing. It's what I like doing. I'm enjoying myself and whether I carry on playing is down to the manager."
