Cole ready to put pen to paper on new five-year deal at Chelsea

midfielder Joe Cole is ready to give the best years of his career to Chelsea and sign a new long-term deal when the club returns from its pre-season trip next week.

New manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has been impressed by Cole both on and off the pitch during the Blues' tour of China and Malaysia, reports The Sun.

The 27-year-old has two years remaining on his current contract but Chelsea are prepared to offer him a new £80,000 a week five-year contract. He currently earns £60,000-a-week.
