Consortium start due diligence into club accounts at Derby

The Walt Disney family-led consortium in negotiations to take over at Derby's Pride Park will find no Magic Kingdom awaiting them in the East Midlands, especially with a board of directors who disagree and then make-up on a daily basis.

But at least the County board are unanimous, for once, in support of the Shamrock Holdings offer.

The Americans have started a period of due diligence into the club accounts and are aware that other interested rivals have emerged following Sports Agenda' revelation of the Disney move.

Meanwhile, the historic problems connected with running Derby are demonstrated by four men - Jeremy Keith, Andrew Mackenzie, Murdo Mackay and Mark Waters - having now been charged with conspiracy to defraud in connection with the alleged financial irregularities surrounding the 2003 takeover of the club.

And a fifth arrest is imminent.
