Creek twist to the Kauto Star story

Kauto Star could be a surprise runner in Saturday's Tingle Creek Chase if the ground at Sandown deteriorates.
With forecasters expecting heavy rain on Wednesday and Friday, the day trainer Paul Nicholls will make his decision, there is every chance the Gold Cup winner could be given the green light to try to win the Grade One chase for a third time.

Primed to go: Kauto Star could run on Saturday
Kauto Star is among the 14 entries along with Champion Chase winner Voy Por Ustedes, whom he beat seven lengths in the race last year.
Nicholls, looking to win the race for a fifth time, will definite run Hoo La Baloo while Twist Magic is doubtful on very soft going.
Kauto Star won the Betfair Chase last season en route to Sandown and his jumping was immaculate in winning the Haydock feature again two weeks ago over three miles.
Nicholls said: 'We have left Kauto Star in as an option if the ground were to come up very testing. I would be very nervous about running Twist Magic on very soft ground. Kauto Star is — and I stress — an option if we want. His owner Clive Smith knows the race has been Twist Magic's target for some time, but Kauto is fine to run if we want to.'
The only firm offering a price on Kauto Star is William Hill, who quote 8-11 with a run, but in his absence, Voy Por Ustedes will start a warm favourite.
