Graham Onions: We will go on the attack

Seamer Graham Onions has warned England's critics to write off their Champions Trophy chances at their peril.

Onions, who impressed on his one-day international debut against Australia in Durham in Sunday, acknowledges that the 6-1 defeat in that series may have lowered expectations of the side.

But he has vowed they will approach each match with a new attacking frame of mind.

"If people think we are going to be an easy game then that is not the case," Onions said.

"We are going to go all out. There's nothing to lose and we're going in to win every game, that's the way we're taking it.

"But if we lose we're going to come back hard and try to win the next one.

"I've not read the press but if people are writing us off that's a mistake. We have a great bunch of youngsters, as well as a few older people and a great captain and great coach.

"We've just got to play as a team and if we do I think we can beat anybody."

England open their campaign against Sri Lanka on Friday.
