South Africa expected to announce Mickey Arthur departure

Cricket South Africa are expected to confirm Mickey Arthur's resignation as coach tomorrow after it was reported today he had left his post.

Arthur said today he felt that the time was right for someone else to take over. It has been reported that Corrie van Zyl will take over in a caretaker capacity with the Proteas set to tour India next month.

CSA are holding a press conference in East London at 7am GMT tomorrow, where they are expected to officially announce Arthur's exit.

They refused to comment on Arthur's position today despite the coach making it clear he was standing down.

It has been reported that Arthur's relationship with South Africa captain Graeme Smith had deteriorated beyond repair.

Former South Africa skipper Kepler Wessels told www.iafrica.com: "There has been some speculation in the last couple of weeks, so it is not a total surprise.

"I still think it is sad, (Arthur) did a good job for South Africa."
