Curbishley in blast at loan deals as he defends Hammers
04 May 2007
Charlton, Wigan and Sheffield United are meeting at Fulham owner Mohamed Fayed's Harrods offices at lunchtime today to discuss what course to take after West Ham escaped without a points deduction for the illegal contracts handed out to Argentinians Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano.

At odds: Wigan supremo Dave Whelan and West Ham's Eggert Magnusson
With their penultimate Premiership game against Bolton coming up tomorrow, Curbishley said: "I can understand where the other clubs are coming from.
"But look at the system which prevents Tim Howard from playing for Everton against Manchester United but will allow him to play against Chelsea.
"Look at the system which allows Premiership clubs to loan out influential players to Championship clubs.
"It's significant that the the two clubs coming up, Birmingham and Sunderland for example, both loaned players from the Premiership. Perhaps we need to look at the loan system."
Curbishley is confident that Australian full-back Lucas Neill will be fit following an ankle injury sustained at Wigan last weekend.
Loan danger: Alan Curbishley believes there are serious problems with the loan system
Tevez, eligible despite doubts about his new contract, picked up an ankle knock in training but should also be ready.
Bolton meanwhile, have new manager Sammy Lee in charge for the first time since the surprise departure of Sam Allardyce last weekend.
Curbishley said: "We all know how difficult it is to play against Bolton.
"They have certain attributes which we have to deal with.
"Tomorrow will be like a cup tie and the atmosphere will be special."
