David Bentley: Fabio Capello will make England winners

The Blackburn Rovers winger is expected to play a key part in tomorrow night's friendly against the United States at Wembley and is in no doubt with the Italian at the helm there will be good times ahead.

He said: "Individually, when you look at this England team, I don't think there is a better team in the world.

"Maybe it's just about the team coming together and all pushing in the right direction.

"You had eight England players in that Champions League Final last week and they're all important members of the squad.

"I can only see us succeeding in the future because the set-up now is good. "It's hard work when you join up with England, everyone is grafting, looking to develop as players. You're not coming here to go through the motions.

"I respected the gaffer when I first joined up but my respect has grown since. I like the way he manages, he's hard on the players, he demands that you be the best you can be.

"We train mornings and afternoons and with a high intensity. It's a good environment, everyone's battling to impress.

"You always play for the manager, you want to impress him. You're humbled because he's done it all. You get to a level and he wants you to push on."
