Portugal midfielder Deco has called on Chelsea’s powerbrokers to pull out all the stops to land Real Madrid star Robinho if they are serious about adding the ‘wow’ factor to their play this season.
Brazilian-born Deco insists he is ready to assume the mantle of Chelsea playmaker as manager Luiz Felipe Scolari looks to deliver on Roman Abramovich’s demand for a more exciting brand of football.

But the £8million capture from Barcelona is eager to have Robinho on board to help share the burden.
‘He is a spectacular player,’ said Deco of the 24-year-old who has made plain his desire to move to Stamford Bridge.
‘He’s got incredible skill. He has magic and is capable of anything on a football pitch.’
As for his own role in putting the style into Chelsea’s play, Deco said: ‘Everybody wants to see good football. This team have players with great quality who can play high calibre football. It’s the responsibility of all the players — partly mine, but all the players — to play exciting football, but I’m more than happy to assume that role.’
Jetting round the world for two weeks may have had its disadvantages in terms of travelling and fatigue, but for Deco it has provided the perfect way to get to know his new team-mates.
Deco said: ‘It’s only the very beginning for me at this club, but I’ve been really pleased with the way things have gone. When you’ve got players of the quality we have, it is always going to make things much easier for me to adapt.’
