Demetriou set for Wakefield return ahead of schedule after neck injury

Wakefield centre Jason Demetriou could make his return from a serious neck
injury in Sunday's engage Super League encounter with Huddersfield.

It was feared the Australian would miss the rest of the season after being told
a narrowing of the spinal cord required surgery in April.

The 32-year-old has made a quicker than expected recovery and could now be
eased back into action off the bench at Belle Vue.

Demetriou told the Yorkshire Post: "It's been a tough few months but I've
managed to keep my head up and now there's light at the end of the tunnel.

"Everything has gone so well and I'm thrilled to be back so soon."
