Great Britain forward Luol Deng has become one of the biggest earners in UK sport after agreeing a new £120,000 a week deal with the Chicago Bulls.
The Londoner, 23, had insisted he would break off contract talks if no agreement was reached by the start of GB training camp next month after previously rejecting a number of overtures from the NBA giants, who he joined in 2004.
Staying put: Luol Deng rejected a number of overtures from the NBA giants.
However Deng will sign a six-year deal worth up to $80m (£41m) with the Bulls, who have yet to reach a new accord with London-born guard Ben Gordon.
Deng, who began his career at Brixton Topcats, is expected to return to Britain tomorrow ahead of the start of preparations for September’s qualifiers for the 2009 European Championships.
