Derby win puts Wigan in top six
14 September 2007
Brian Noble's men had to end an eight-match losing streak against their arch rivals St Helens to nail their place in the top six.

Crucial score: Players and fans celebrate Colbon's try
More than that, they had to overcome a four-point penalty for breaching last season's salary cap.
How far they can go along the road to the Grand Final at Old Trafford on October 13 is questionable.
They must go through the "sudden death" stages, probably starting with a visit to Noble's former club Bradford next weekend.
At least they have made it, and world champions St Helens made two uncharacteristic errors late in the game to help them on their way.
"Man of Steel" Paul Wellens gift Pat Richards the late penalty which took Wigan eight points clear.
Then Saints loose forward Chris Flannery dropped the ball over the Wigan line. But, on their second-half efforts at least, Wigan deserved to celebrate in front of a 22,031 crowd.
The home side pumped up their fans by inducting Ellery Hanley MBE into their Hall of Fame before the kick-off.
But there was no sign of outgoing Warriors chairman Maurice Lindsay, who has been suffering from illness.
Saints had won eight derbies in a row and started well, Leon Pryce sending Willie Talau in for the first try after 14 minutes.
But then Wigan's David Vaealiki broke and ran 70 metres for a try to level.
Pat Richards converted and Wigan led 6-4, but Pryce hoisted a kick to the righthand corner and Saints winger Ade Gardner leapt like a salmon to gather it and score.
Wigan knew they could not rely on Warrington losing at Salford and they squeezed ahead for the second time with a converted try by scrum half Thomas Leuluai.
But then video referee Ian Smith disallowed a try by Wigan winger Mark Calderwood, and Wellens tied the scores with a penalty.
But then the JJB erupted when Sean O'Loughlin got young winger Liam Colbon over in the corner after 64 minutes.
Richards then made no mistake with the penalty after Wellens' error and Flannery's late miss confirmed it was the home side's day.
