Derbyshire is not just Santa's little helper

No Rovers player is prouder than lifelong fan Derbyshire to pull on the shirt, and Finns MyPa will face his lethal enthusiasm in tonight's UEFA Cup qualifier.
While Santa Cruz, a summer snip for Hughes at £3.3million from Bayern Munich, might have stolen his thunder, England Under 21 starlet Derbyshire refuses to settle for a place on the bench.
The striker, who needs to dislodge Santa Cruz or Benni McCarthy to start in the League, said: "I may go on to different clubs, I may stay here all my career. But there will always be strikers coming in. I look forward to the competition. If a player like Roque comes in you can only learn from him."
Now the 21-year-old is restless for his first UEFA Cup goal as Rovers aim to clinch a place in tomorrow's group draw after Santa Cruz's winner put them in the driving seat in the first leg a fortnight ago in Finland.
Hughes will take no risks with his team selection but is aware that a further booking for McCarthy, David Bentley or David Dunn would mean a onematch ban if they go through.
Meanwhile, McCarthy has agreed to come out of retirement to play for South Africa again.
McCarthy, 29, will play next week against Zambia, with South Africa needing a draw to guarantee qualification for the African Nations Cup.
