Dislocated shoulder rules Derby's Pearson out for a month

Scotland midfielder Stephen Pearson's Derby County career has suffered another blow after he was crocked by his own team-mate on Boxing Day.

The former Celtic star collided with Darren Moore in the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool at Pride Park and is now expected to be sidelined for at least a month with a dislocated shoulder.

Pearson has been a virtual ever-present in the Derby side this season, although injury blighted his first few months at the club after he moved south of the border last January.

Manager Paul Jewell, who only took over from the sacked Billy Davies last month, said: "We really are stretched to the limit at the moment and I just wish it was January so we could get some new guys in."
