Donadoni says he is not fazed by Italy's humiliating defeat to Holland

Italy coach Roberto Donadoni defended his tactics in the wake of their 3-0 defeat to Holland.

The world champions produced one of their worst performances for years in the Group C match in Berne on Monday, with the defence especially woeful without the injured Fabio Cannavaro.

No regrests: Italy's coach Roberto Donadoni insists defeat was not down to his formation.

But Donadoni (above) said: “To say now whether the formation was right or wrong makes no sense.

"If the reason it was wrong is because we lost then so be it. But it is too simplistic.

"For me, it was not mistaken. The defeat does not knock my confidence.”
