Don't bite the hand that feeds: Delia dishes out £2m to keep Norwich afloat

Celebrity cook Delia Smith is using the royalties from her latest hit book to keep her beloved Norwich City afloat.

Smith, 67, has handed over a further £2million of her own money, bringing to £11m the amount she and husband Michael Wynn-Jones have pumped into the Canaries’ coffers since 1996.

The majority shareholders’ latest cash injection has been partly funded by her controversial ‘How to Cheat at Cooking’ best-seller, which was published in February this year.

Norwich were rocked this week by the shock resignation of shareholders Andrew and Sharon Turner, leaving Roger Munby to admit their departure left a £1.5m hole in the club’s budget.
