Double joy for Barry

Gareth Barry enjoyed his best moment in football last night as he prepares to make the biggest move of his career.

The Aston Villa midfielder scored in the win over Trinidad and then took the captain's armband off David Beckham for the second half in Port of Spain.

He will now return to England to discuss his future with Villa boss Martin O'Neill with the likelihood that he will end up signing for Liverpool.

He said: "It is a fantastic way to end the season for myself. To get my first international goal and then lead my country out in the second half made it a fantastic day all round and one that I probably will never forget.

"We have to be realistic and say that it is still early days but we are learning under Fabio all the time and that is the important thing."
