The Anfield boss, who takes his side to Toulouse in the first leg, is backing them to avoid a repeat of last season's qualifying scare against Maccabi Haifa.

Liverpool eased past their Shanghai counterparts
Liverpool scraped through 3-2 but were distracted enough to drop five points in their first three Premiership games, which ruined their hopes of keeping up with Chelsea and Manchester United.
Toulouse finished third in the French League last season and are unlikely to trouble Liverpool as much as Maccabi did.
'We have a better squad now and could put out two entirely different but still good teams if we wanted to,' said Benitez, who will have a spy at Toulouse's opening League game at Valenciennes today.
'After all the travelling round the world we have done this summer I am glad we do not have to go too far and it is good the second game is in front of our own supporters.'
Benitez received a boost last night when Fernando Torres, 23, scored his first goal since his £20m move from Atletico Madrid to help Liverpool to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Chinese minnows Shanghai Shenhua in Rotterdam. Steven Gerrard came on as substitute to score with a trademark 20- yard drive.
Arsenal, also away in the first leg, face a testing tie with Sparta Prague and Gunners midfielder Cesc Fabregas warned of the consequences of failing to reach the group stage.
'It would be a disaster for us,' he said. 'The season wouldn't be the same without Champions' League football.'
Celtic are away to Spartak Moscowin the first leg on the artificial pitch which awaits England when they face Russia on October 17.
Rangers, who defend a 2-0 first-leg lead at FK Zeta on Tuesday, will face Crvena Zvezda — formerly Red Star Belgrade — or Levadia Tallinn if they go through.
The first leg matches are on August 14 or 15 with the return leg two weeks later.
