Wembley kings Wigan, winners of the trophy a record 17 times — including eight consecutive final wins from 1988-1995 —will start as hot favourites against Catalans.

Catalans are only the second French side to make it to the Challenge Cup semi-finals, following Toulouse in 2005.

St Helens face a tougher assignment, having to overcome an in-form Bradford side determined to make up for defeats to Saints in five major finals since the start of Super League.

Bradford have lost two Grand Finals and three Challenge Cup finals against Saints since 1996.

Challenge Cup semi-final draw:

Saturday, July 28, Bradford Bulls v St Helens Galpharm Stadium, Huddersfield (12.30pm)

Sunday, July 29, Wigan Warriors v Catalan Dragons Halliwell Jones Stadium, Warrington (3.15pm).
