But nobody could possibly question the rampant manner of victory, as Dylan Thomas sped four lengths clear of Youmzain in the final furlong.

Her wins by daylight: Dylan Thomas was poetry in motion at Ascot
No one was more impressed than jockey-of-the-moment Johnny Murtagh, called up by Aidan O'Brien for Dylan Thomas once more after a gap of nine races stretching back to last year's Derby.
He admitted: "It is amazing how easy it is to ride a horse when they are going as well as that through a race. He could hardly have done it better.
"When you get on a roll, people want you to ride their good horses. You have to grab your opportunities when they come along. It's taken a long time but I never gave up hope of getting back on Dylan Thomas. We were only beaten two short heads in last year's Derby."
Joint owner John Magnier said: "Aidan felt he had the horse at the top of his game today. He is straighter now than earlier in the season."
O'Brien, who will aim the winner at the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, added: "He's a real proper horse."
