Blackburn's Australian right-back Brett Emerton has extended his stay with the Lancashire outfit until 2012.
Emerton had two years remaining on his current deal, but chose to extend his contract for four years.
Since signing from Feyenoord in 2003, the versatile Emerton has made over 200 appearances for the club.
While new boss Paul Ince is said to be seeking a new right-back, Emerton can also play in midfield.
Emerton: Snapped up on a long-term contract
The 29-year-old has joined Ince and his squad at their pre-season training camp in Germany after an extended holiday.
Rovers' chairman John Williams confirmed: 'This is great news for the club.
'Brett has been an excellent servant over the last five years and we are delighted to have agreed a deal which keeps him here for another four years.
He's a very willing member of the squad and a real club man,' he told Setanta Sports.
