England striker Ashton set to sign new 13m five-year deal with West Ham

Dean Ashton is expected to sign a new £13m five-year contract at West Ham United, catapulting him into the ranks of the club's top earners.
Ashton will put pen to paper on a new £50,000 per week deal, just days after his disappointing England debut in Trinidad & Tobago.
The 24-year-old, who has battled back from a serious broken ankle, had two years remaining on his contract at Upton Park - worth around £13,000 per week.
Debut: Dean Ashton makes his international bow for England at Trinidad & Tobago on Sunday.
But that contract has been torn up and a new agreement has been agreed after Ashton held lengthy talks with manager Alan Curbishley, according to The Sun.
Club-record signing Craig Bellamy has told Curbishley he will be fit for the start of pre-season training after abdominal surgery in February.
The Welsh international said: “I am feeling great. I’ll be keeping up with my fitness and training regime during the summer and I’m looking forward to a full pre-season.”
Peru winger Nolberto Solano, 33, however, is expected to leave Upton Park.
