Eriksson has agreed to become our next manager, claim Mexico FA
28 May 2008
Sven Goran Eriksson will be appointed the manager of Mexico on Monday, claims the head of the country's governing body, even though he is due to have talks with Chelsea.
Mexican Football Federation president Justino Compean insists Eriksson, whose future as Manchester City boss has been the subject of intense speculation over recent weeks, has agreed the details of the deal. Compean said: "We have a very clear picture of the profile we are looking for.
Hello goodbye: Sven Goran Eriksson is set to leave Manchester City to become the new manager of Mexico.
"We only seriously considered Scolari and Eriksson.
"We've sorted out the details with Eriksson and we are about to confirm him."
However, Eriksson is set to meet Chelsea officials this week to discuss the managerial vacancy at Stamford Bridge following Avram Grant's sacking.
