Eriksson turns down Benfica and Mexico as he waits for Manchester City sack

Sven Goran Eriksson has decided to snub Benfica and the Mexico national team and wait for 'bigger offers' as he prepares to leave Manchester City.

Eriksson, on City's tour of Asia, expects to be sacked in the next few days and, although he met owner Thaksin Shinawatra at a photo-call in Bangkok yesterday, the Swede's job was not discussed. Michael Laudrup, Getafe's boss, is expected to join Sevilla instead of City.
